Quinsam River Hiking Trail

When I'm not at the World Parrot Refuge, I take advantage of being on Vancouver Island and visit with my Friends. They take me on day trip to tour some of the natural sites.

This is the Quinsam River Hiking Trail in early April. The skunk cabbages are flowering everywhere.

More Skunk Cabbage.

The Skunk Cabbages grow all along the river in all the wet spots. That's all you can smell while walking along the trail. And, yes they do smell like skunk!

Look at this interesting moss formation on the trees. It almost looks like carved totem poles.
